Healthcoaches of America (HCA)

The burden placed on the healthcare industry and the challenges to preserve the quality of care have brought the realization that a healthcare team must keep in close contact with the serviced population to advise, guide and promote preemptive/preventative medicine. Since most patients are left to fair for themselves after the physician visit, there exists a great need for untapped, talented resource of potential wellness professionals that can help with continuation of care and health advancement. Today preventative medicine is the fastest growing field in the healthcare industry.

A highly skilled health coach can make a great difference in a person’s life. He/she is a specially trained healthcare professional who helps individuals understand their health conditions and engages them in a more meaningful discussion about their health management than their providers. A health coach deals with the whole person and with his/her entire lifestyle situation. A health coach understands participant’s motivational basis, background, barriers and shortcomings. A health coach becomes a veritable health partner in whom an individual puts his/ her trust to guide the individual through difficult situations. Health coaches do not practice medicine; they supplement, support and personalize medical care.
